The Flip-Top Is the Point

Standard screw-cap shakers need two hands and your attention. A flip-top opens with one thumb and closes the same way, which matters more than it sounds when you're between sets, driving, or carrying gear.

It also seals. The leak-resistant design is the difference between throwing a half-full shaker into a bag and finding a protein-soaked gym kit an hour later — the failure mode that ends most shakers' careers.

Why 800ml

Most shakers are 600ml, and most of them are slightly too small.

A standard protein serve wants 250–300ml, which fits anywhere. The problem is everything else: high-dose pre-workouts want 300–400ml, intra-workout amino and electrolyte drinks get sipped over an hour and want volume, and any powder mixes far better with headroom above the liquid. Fill a 600ml shaker to 500ml and there's nowhere for the powder to move.

Getting a Lump-Free Mix

Powder in first, then the liquid. Doing it the other way round packs powder against the bottom where it can't disperse.

Give it a proper ten-second shake rather than a couple of flicks, and don't fill it to the brim — the air gap is what lets the powder move. Rinse it straight after use; dried protein is significantly harder to clean than wet protein, and that's how shakers start to smell.

Is it dishwasher safe?

Check the base of the bottle for the manufacturer's guidance. Top rack is generally safer for shakers regardless, and hand washing extends the life of the seal.

Will it leak in my bag?

It's designed leak-resistant, which is a meaningful step above a standard screw cap. Make sure the flip top is fully clicked shut — most leaks come from a lid that's closed but not seated.

Does it come with a mixing ball?

Check the product listing for what's included. The 800ml capacity does a lot of the mixing work through headroom regardless.

How do I stop it smelling?

Rinse it immediately after use and leave it open to dry rather than sealed. Trapped moisture in a closed shaker is what causes the smell, not the protein itself.
