Muscle Mass Is a Balance, Not a Build

Your body constantly breaks down and rebuilds muscle protein. Whether you gain or lose comes down to which side is winning. You can shift the balance two ways: build faster, or break down slower.

There are nine essential amino acids — ones your body cannot produce and must get from food. Building muscle protein requires all nine.

That's why EAAs outperform BCAAs alone in the research. Leucine is the trigger that activates muscle protein synthesis, but a trigger without ammunition doesn't build anything. Supplying only BCAAs signals your body to build while withholding six of the amino acids it needs to do it.
